Bengaluru has turned into a pink heaven and rightly so, as pink trees are spread all across the city. Check out the stunning pics here



Bengaluru: No, this isn't Japan. It is namma city Bengaluru. Can't believe your eyes? Well, the city has turned into a pink heaven and how, as pink trees are spread all across the city. The incredible photos of pink blooming flowers on trees and strewn all over parks and roads only brings to mind Japan's famous Cherry blossom festival. 


In fact, this also reminds us of Shillong's own pink flower festival when the north-eastern state turns into a brilliant shade of pink when the buds of the Prunus Cerasoides bloom in November. Ever witnessed that? Well, not many know that the Garden city of India Bengaluru also has its very own Cherry blossom time during spring. 

People from across the city took to social media to share some of the stunning pictures of pink trees spread all across Bengaluru. Several residents even compared the photos to those of Japan's and rightly so.

These flowers are often seen blooming across trees on the roadside and even in gardens, and when their petals fall on the ground create a pretty pink carpet.

Soon #PinkBangalore started trending on Twitter and many users shared photos of trees and parks in and around the city where the flowers bloomed and the spring season is officially pink season in the Garden city. The flower is popular called as the Tabibuea Rosea.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will hold its month-long annual flower show

  The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will hold its month-long annual flower show from March 3. The flower show has been part of the institution’s history for 35 years, and it is conducted to mark the birth anniversary of the founder, J N Tata. The plants on display are grown in-house and they are displayed from the door of the main building till the founder’s statue on the campus. This time, around 15 varieties of plants will be showcased, ranging from phlox, zinnia, coral zinnia, celosia, and hollyhocks to different types of marigold, candytuft, nasturtium, among others. B Sridhar, horticulturist and curator of the show, says the plants are chosen for their height and colour to befit the design of the floral tribute. “We add microbial culture to make the process organic. This makes the plants look brighter and express their real colour,” he explains.
